Abstract

I am the preface of the work in question, in addition to having been the advisor of the doctoral thesis that is the origin of this book. According to academic rules – whose convenience should not be challenged in a hasty and thoughtless manner – it would not be good form to launch into public considerations about work carried out under my direction. However, Crítica Marxista is not an academic journal. Therefore, I feel comfortable addressing here some theoretically relevant questions raised by Perissinotto. The following comment does not fulfill the literary function of the review: I do not present a summary of the book, nor do I list the qualities of the author. But I hope that my foray into the field of problems raised by Perissinotto's analysis indirectly indicates the high scientific relevance of his research work.
