Abstract
The scientific analysis of merchandise and, therefore, of money, formulated by Marx, is developed in three different writings, but which have a genetic link between them. The first of them, generally known as Grundrisse der Kritik der politischen Ökonomie (Rohentwurf) 1857-1858, is the note – intentionally unpublished by the author – of the economic studies undertaken since November 1850, prepared between October 1857 and March 1858, covering two topics: The Money Chapter and Fragment of the Primitive Version of the “Contribution to the Criticism of Political Economy” (1858), in which the basic lines of his theory on these social relations are established. Contribution to the critique of political economy, the second writing, published in 1859, is a refined and developed version of the original version for the public and preserves practically all the topics covered in the note.
