Abstract

Henrique Amorim's work aims to criticize fundamental theses of the contemporary debate on the centrality of work. To respond to this challenge, the author is not limited to examining the work of contemporary authors such as André Gorz and Serge Mallet, but rescues the historical context that motivated the emergence of the sociology of work, in addition to focusing on Emile's classic text Durkheim, The social division of labor.
