Abstract

José Rodrigues' work, Os empresários e a educação superior, has as its central thesis the idea that there are two fractions of the Brazilian bourgeoisie that have different interests in the educational system: on the one hand, the old industrial bourgeoisie formed in the developmental period and, on the one hand, the old industrial bourgeoisie formed in the developmental period and, on the other hand, the new bourgeois fraction linked to educational services expanding in the neoliberal economic model.
