Abstract
The article argues that the government of Lula da Silva and the Partido dos Trabalhadores legitimates and grants significative space to the Brazilian right wing, through its economical and social poilitics and its political alliances. On the "battle of ideas", Lula's government and the leadership of PT did not contribute to the progress of leftist ideals and values; they fail to promote the ideological struggle under the perspective and interest of the workers and popular classes.
