From ideological misery to the crisis of capital: A historical reconciliation

Abstract

Maria Orlanda Pinassi's book is part of her postgraduate thesis in Sociology, which she presented at the Faculty of Sciences and Letters of UNESP, Araraquara campus. Composed of a bundle of 11 short essays, which articulate a range of essential problems for criticizing the existing world, it uses passionate, expressive and accessible language, but without making concessions to common sense and vulgarization. In her trajectory, Pinassi is accompanied by Marx, Lukács and Mészáros, authors who offer all the coherence of the analysis proposed in the book. With these authors, Pinassi analyzes the worldview of the bourgeoisie from its ascendant phase, as a victorious class, in a position to organize the whole of social life according to its interests and conceptions until the very serious structural crisis in which capital is embroiled today.
