Abstract
Alexander Kluge, an influential German Marxist thinker, has a degree in Legal Theory, is a political essayist and novel writer. Currently in Germany, he is one of the main directors of the so-called “New German Cinema”; A student and friend of Theodor Adorno, he was introduced to Fritz Lang who, in 1958, at the age of 26, became his assistant director on the film The Bengal Tiger. His growing involvement with cinematographic activity allowed him to be elected, in 1962, director of the Institut für Filmgestaltung in Ulm.
