Abstract

Few of Marx's texts occupy such a unique position in his work as “The Method of Political Economy”, the third of the four topics in the “Introduction to the Critique of Political Economy” (Einleitung zur Kritik der Politischen Ökonomie), known more simply as the Introduction of 1857, the most notable, alongside the study on the “Forms that preceded capitalist production”, of the writings included in the Grundrisse der Kritik der Politischen Ökonomie, a set of economic manuscripts written by Marx in London during the biennium 1857-58 and published for the first time in Moscow in 1939.
