A new salary? Debate around Jean Lojkine's book

Abstract

Jean Lojkine’s book is titled L’adieu à la class moyenne. This is the new middle class, as opposed to the layers of artisans and small traders, the old petty bourgeoisie. But the central character of the large panel that the book presents to us is not exactly this controversial class, but the salaryman considered as a whole. Gérard Duménil and Michel Vakaloulis question the author here about his economic and sociological observations, as well as the political consequences of his analysis.
