Dossier Altermondialism anti-capitalism

Abstract

The magazine Actuel Marx organized a dossier in September 2008 entitled: Altermondialisme Anticapitalisme. The dossier is formed by a round table composed of Alex Callinicos, Marta Harneker, Wolfgang Haug, Domenico Jervolino, Massimo Modonesi, Hilary Wainwright and Otto Wolf; in addition to seven more articles by: Dominique Plihon, Emmanuel Terray, Stéphanie Treillet, Michel Löwy, Jean-Marie Harribey, Yves Salesse, Gérard Duménil and Dominique Lévy. Each text deals with a particular theme, but there is, in general, a central question tracing a guiding thread throughout the entire dossier: the alterglobalist movement constitutes (or should constitute) an aggregating grouping of all the opinions that do they turn against the excesses of neoliberalism or, more than that, do they intend (or should they intend) to set in motion a political force that calls into question the very mechanisms of capitalist appropriation and domination?
