Abstract

If the importance of the Communist Party of Brazil (PCB) is indisputable, it is not an easy task to evaluate its performance and point out its errors without disqualifying those who made mistakes and without undermining its many merits. Although selfless and with the most generous of proposals – to end the exploitation of man by man – the PCB made apparently inexplicable mistakes. Without demonizing characters and without reconciling with the mistakes made, Carlos Zacarias opens up an important space for the discussion and deepening of these and other issues.
