Abstract
The studies carried out by Anita Leocádia Prestes, in their entirety, are part of those that seek to record social struggles, rescue their meanings and reflect on their own history, analyzing not only the actions of the PCB as a central axis, but placing them within a set broader set of striking conflicts and contradictions in Brazilian society. The study of the political action of workers' organizations implies a reflection, not only monographic, but fundamentally political, about the economic, social and cultural determinations of the socioeconomic formation of Brazilian capitalism on the formation of the national proletariat. In the book The Brazilian Communists (1945-1956/58) Luiz Carlos Prestes and the Politics of the PCB, Anita Prestes advances in her political and theoretical inventory on the actions of the PCB and Luiz Carlos Prestes, composed of other already known volumes, as A Brazilian Epic: the Prestes Column, Luiz Carlos Prestes and the National Liberation Alliance: the paths of the anti-fascist struggle in Brazil (1934/35) and From armed insurrection (1935) to the National Union (1938-1945): the tactical turn in PCB policy. When approaching the period from 1945 to 1958, Anita carries out a reflection that inserts the PCB's actions into a context that defines lines of action that, in some way, structure the debate on the actions of communists to this day.
