Abstract

The book by Emmanuel Renault, Gérard Duménil and Michel Löwy is an introduction to Marx's political, philosophical and economic analyses. This is not a manual, as the authors clarify in the introduction. This is because the elaboration of a good manual – a very useful object in the most varied sciences – would require common procedures in approaching the texts and a certain homogeneity in the way concepts are presented.
