Lenin's great turning point

Abstract

Contradicting the thesis that attributes to Lenin a deterministic vision of social evolution, which he allegedly would have abandoned only after reading Hegel’s Logic, in this paper we sustain that the turning point of Lenin’s thought was achieved when he wrote Imperialism, highest stage of capitalism. Without this work it will not be possible to understand the Twentieth Century history. Lenin presents a new view of the development of capitalism and of the dynamics of the revolutionary struggle worldwide, that points to
the determinant role played by the oppressed people of colonial areas, side by side with the proletarian masses of Europe, in the struggle against capitalist global order
