Abstract

Ludmila Abílio’s book is permeated by the “make-up” of hidden relationships and the visibility of the exploitation of the work of Natura product resellers. The affirmation of resale activity as work and its role in the company's capitalist accumulation process are the guiding thread of the work, which allows us to understand elements of the contemporary capitalist strategy for controlling labor relations. Abílio discusses central themes for understanding work today, such as precariousness, flexibility and subjectivity. In an original way and providing consistent support for understanding informal work, it reveals connections and co-productions between work, circulation and consumption.
