Abstract
At a time like this, Pitillo's book acquires greater importance, which set out to analyze the USSR's participation in the Second World War and, in doing so, helped fill a gap in the Brazilian bibliography regarding that important event. And, most importantly, it dispelled countless myths introduced by Western historiography that seek to minimize the role played by the Soviets and overestimate that of the Anglo-American armies. He sought to give a voice to the Russians and put the reader “on the march with the Soviet troops”.
