June 2013 to 2015: Did the “tectonic plates” start to move?

Abstract

Brazil is experiencing a political crisis. The new situation was opened in June 2013. Within the new situation we have had several juncture changes, fluctuations that have contradictory meanings, but did not reverse the dynamic. At least for three times: a first juncture between June 2013 and February 2014, progressive, which was characterized by mass mobilizations on the scale of millions against all governments, without direction and unified program; (b) a second one, regressive, between February 2014 and March 2015, characterized by reflux of the mobilizations in the context of the World Cup, and the expectation generated by the elections; (c) a third one opened by the March/April 2015 mobilizations against the government Dilma Rousseff, with the arrival on the scene of the middle class polarized by the bourgeois opposition. The latter two situations did not impose a defeat that has reversed the direction of the new situation, which is still in dispute.
