Abstract
The “new reading of Marx” proposed in this article deviates from Antonio Negri’s or Karl Heinz Roth’s “operaísmo” in their belief that some important categories developed by Marx are no longer able to account for contemporary capitalism, and from the idea of a Marxian Weltanschauung providing answers to all the pre-existent historical, social or philosophical issues. The “new reading of Marx” acknowledges that his legacy is composed by a gigantic and unequal set of fragmented theoretical works, which on their level of generality are an indispensable tool for understanding the contemporary situation.
