Abstract
Studies of the transition from dictatorship to Brazilian democracy are, to a large extent, the field of political scientists, with a more conservative bias and entangled in the discussion and role that political scientists themselves had in that Brazilian historical moment, that is, the creation of firm foundations for a politically controlled transition, without giving rise to significant economic transformations. This book goes beyond that.
