New sexual division from work? One look towards the company and the society

Abstract

This is an important collection of texts – unpublished in Portuguese – that make up the set of one of the main sociological works that discuss the sexual division of labor. The text in question is suggestive, it poses a question instead of a statement. New sexual division of labor? And the subtitle places the book within an analysis of the company and society. In other words, it starts from a debate on social gender relations, constituents of social and family relations, and on sexual relations at work, understanding their manifestations within the sphere of productive work. Although there are two distinct dimensions – social and work – both are strictly correlated from the perspective of the construction of the capitalist mode of production and its social relations.
