Abstract
What would a Marxist theory of social movements look like and what is its impact on Marxist theory? By formulating such a question, this book, published in 2013, explains a paradox: Marxism is the result of the experience of the popular movements of its time and aims to contribute to these movements, but it has not developed any theory of social movements, nor
reflected on how a concept of social movement would relate to other fundamental concepts of Marxism.
