Abstract
This paper seeks to contribute to the discussion on the revaluation of The Civic Culture (Almond; Verba, 1965), addressing the problem of a Marxist sociological perspective, which includes: (a) the impact of The Civic Culture in policy research in and on the socialist countries of Eastern Europe, (b) a comparison of The Civic Culture methodology with the largest transnational study of politics, the International Study on Values in Politics and (c) general problems of theory and methodology of The Civic Culture analyzed from a contemporary Marxist methodology empirical research policy point of view.
