Abstract
After the Second World War, a series of research emerged dedicated to carrying out empirically oriented work supported by new and modern research techniques, as well as the elaboration of broad comparative studies on the political systems of different social formations. The work The Civic Culture: Political Attitudes and Democracy in Five Countries, written by American social scientists Gabriel Almond and Sidney Verba, published in 1963, is one of the main examples of this process and can be considered a pioneer in the examination of a topic that, in following decades, produced a significant impact on the production of social sciences: the theme of political culture.
