Abstract
Women, race and class was published in the United States in 1981. More than thirty years later, in 2016, on the fiftieth anniversary of the Black Panther Party, Boitempo launches the first Brazilian edition. A considerable gap, which would be worth questioning in the book’s presentation. The combined effects of race and gender oppression, in a society founded on the exploitation of slave labor, concern us too much to underestimate this time lapse. The book is made up of thirteen chapters. The translation, the preface and the text are written by women, two of whom are black, intellectuals and activists, just like the author, Angela Davis.
