Abstract
The article aims at presenting some elements of David Harvey’s writings, particularly in relation with his understanding about the processes of accumulation by dispossession and their consequences for the new imperialism under course in the neoliberal phase of capitalism. Such reflection is relevant once it highlights the importance of Harvey’s writings to the understanding of the International Relations; henceforth, ultimately the understanding of the contemporary international processes would be conditioned to the historical comprehension of the uneven geographical development of capitalism, which presents explanatory elements of the power dynamics among states.
