Abstract
The year 2017 marked one hundred years since the decisive Russian Revolution of 1917. As expected, political acts, historical review debates and university seminars dealt with the topic exhaustively. And many books were published. It is in this context that the publication of The bipolar revolution: the genesis and collapse of Soviet socialism, by Luís Fernandes, deserves to be highlighted. The author is certainly the Brazilian intellectual who most closely focused his bibliography on the theme of the development of the Soviet Union and its impacts on the international system and Marxist theory.
