Abstract
After a hiatus of almost thirty years, in the midst of the celebration of the centenary of the Russian Revolution, the canon General Theory of Law and Marxism, by Evguiéni Pashukanis, receives two new translations into Portuguese, translated directly from Russian, published by the publishers Boitempo and Sundermann [ in this case, under the slightly different title of The General Theory of Law and Marxism and Selected Essays (1921-1929)]. The text, recognized in the legal world as one of the most important contributions to the critical analysis of Law, whether to Marxist studies on Law and even to the general theory of Law, which circulated in the field academic research through digitalized copies, with indirect translations, not only had its access facilitated, but it was also accompanied by very expressive support material and unpublished essays in Portuguese. We consider this publication to be of utmost importance for specialized studies and those interested in general in the discussion about the role that Law plays in capitalist society and that it may play in another, more advanced mode of production.
