Abstract
The field of Social Sciences presents, especially in the last three decades, a growing debate around “information and communication technologies” (ICTs) and their impacts on the most varied areas of research. Terms such as cyberspace, cyberculture, network society and Web 2.0 proliferate in texts that seek to understand how such technologies alter or perpetuate paradigms, introduce new possibilities for political participation or even represent “new frontiers” for a “new” economy.
