Abstract

Fernando Antônio Azevedo's book is another important contribution to a broad recent literature on the Workers' Party. Its emphasis is the PT’s relationship with the media. The work proposes three theses: 1) the mainstream press operated in the media field in parallel with center-right political forces; 2) this alignment of the press with the center-right is not casual or fortuitous, as it is based on a historically and socially rooted conception of the world with a liberal orientation; 3) both in the past and At present, the themes used by the mainstream press against center-left forces were radicalism-populism and corruption (p.200-206).
