Abstract
In 2017, the centenary of the great strike of 1917 in São Paulo was celebrated. José Luiz Del Roio recovers the history of this conflict often forgotten by new generations of workers. The author was a PCB activist and Marighella's companion in the fight against the military dictatorship. In exile, as Gilberto Maringoni recalls in the preface, Del Roio was responsible for saving from repression and organizing in Italy the archives of Astrojildo Pereira, founder of the PCB, in which much of the documentation from the period can be found (today deposited at Cedem-Unesp) which he brings to light in his short but vibrant book.
