Abstract

Dardot and Laval's work arrives in Brazil precisely at the moment when the 2016 coup and the intensification of the neoliberal offensive challenge the left to reflect on its place in the world. The essay analyzes not only the genesis and structure of neoliberalism but also the role of the left in this scenario. Forged in the Question Marx study group, combining Marxism with Foucault's thought, the book reveals the neoliberal mentality to make clear the need to create a socialist mentality.
