Abstract

Left-wing movements and organizations have always been marked by their strong heterogeneity. Even though there is a certain degree of epistemological and ontological cohesion between them, it is undeniable that there is an interpretative conflict in the political field of the left that refers both to theoretical understandings about the process of overcoming the capitalist system and to programmatic questions regarding how to proceed in the short/medium term. In other words, the left has several faces that reflect in different ways the common object on which it focuses: the liberation of human beings from the oppression of capital. If within Marxism itself these conflicts are already sufficiently accentuated (especially in the dispute between Stalinism and Trotskyism), they worsen when Marxism and anarchism are placed face to face.
