Abstract
A not fortuitous coincidence, at the same time that the group that founded Crítica Marxista was meeting in São Paulo, Domenico Losurdo published From the October Revolution to the new international order (November 1993). We were in those unfortunate years of contemporary history, in which the dismantling of the Soviet bloc had broken, in favor of the capitalist bloc grouped in the NATO war alliance, four decades of the US/USSR strategic balance. Long columns of renegades and deserters adhered to democracy and globalization made in the USA, under the pretext that Gorbachev's fiasco and Yeltsin's capitalist coup had proven the “failure” of Marxism. Sad parrots of neoliberal “single thinking”, they maintained that, with the USSR suppressed, we would enter an era of peace, without walls or borders.
