Abstract
Paul Frölich's biography of Rosa Luxemburg, written in 1939, is one of the first to be published. The text is a classic for studies of Luxemburg's work and life and its Portuguese version thus expands the universe of Rosa's interested and readers. The Brazilian edition brings the afterword to the second German edition, in which Klaus Kinner explains the context of Frölich and what the controversies were on the German left, which helps to understand passages from the book. The edition also has an afterword by Isabel Loureiro that takes stock of the work and compares it with other biographies of the revolutionary.
