Abstract
The objective of this article is to articulate politics and education based on Gramsci's writings, using as a reference the idea of political direction within the party. To explain this theme, we take as a basis the Gramscian notion of avant-garde, with excerpts from writings from 1919-1920, the 1926 letter and fragments of the Prison Notebooks, which emphasize the need to overcome the division and distance between leaders and those led. It is about accentuating Gramsci's original conception regarding the organization of the Party in the affirmation that everyone is intellectual and that, therefore, everyone has the capacity to become leaders.
