Abstract
The Italian Domenico Losurdo was, without a doubt, one of the greatest Marxist thinkers of the turn of the 20th century to the 21st. His work navigated at least four main axes: the critique of liberalism, the analysis of the contemporary dynamics of imperialism, the reconstruction of the trajectory of important philosophers and the assessment of socialist experiences and their exponents in the 20th century. In all of his writings, he constantly sought to question the theoretical postulates of many of the main Marxist and left-wing thinkers of contemporary times, especially their positions in the face of the events resulting from the anti-colonial revolts that filled the international scene of the 20th century. Losurdo was, simultaneously, orthodox regarding Marxist theoretical-methodological aspects and heterodox regarding subjects and criticisms of the field itself.
