Abstract
Michael Heinrich is a political scientist, was a professor at the University of Vienna, the University of Applied Sciences and the Free University of Berlin and editor of PROKLA, the Journal of Critical Social Science between 1994 and 2014. Heinrich is also a contributor to MEGA2 (Marx-Engels- Gesamtausgabe), author of a series of books on Marx, including an introduction to the three volumes of Capital, the biography Karl Marx and the Birth of Modern Society, and The Science of Value. His intellectual production is part of the tradition of the so-called Neue Marx-Lektüre, originating in the mid-1960s, mainly interested in reviewing of the historicizing and empiricist interpretation of Marx's analysis of economic forms, which goes back to Friedrich Engels. One of the proposals of Neue Marx-Lektüre is to think of Marxism not only as an economic theory of capitalist society, but as a broader Social Science.
