Abstract
This issue of Marxist Criticism brings a dossier on the issue of the growth of the extreme right today and its rise to government in some countries in Europe and Latin America. The texts published here are both theoretical contributions and empirical analysis. Some examine the concepts of dictatorship and fascism, while others deal with the cases of Brazil, the United States and Italy – the trio of Bolsonaro, Trump and Salvini. Addressing such a broad topic runs the risk of excessive generality. We seek to protect ourselves in this regard, inviting authors who have focused on different dimensions of this topic general. The profile of the dossier thus privileged the variety of themes to the detriment of the confrontation of analyzes and political positions on the same and single dimension of the phenomenon. It is certain, however, that the reader will be able to identify the latent or explicit controversies that are present in the texts and even between them.
