Abstract
The article analyzes José Carlos Mariátegui’s thought about the Latin American revolution and points out some convergences with the political ideas of Leon Trotsky and the Left Communist Opposition, especially the proposal of simultaneous democratic and socialist tasks, against the Stalinist conception of revolution in stages.
