Abstract
Nancy Fraser and Rahel Jaeggi deliver, in Capitalism in Debate, a great synthesis the likes of which Marxism has not seen for decades. Philosophers like Marx walk with ease through history and social sciences to articulate a new vision of capitalism with a surprising wealth of relationships. There is a certain inequality: Fraser, already established, proposes a broader synthesis; Jaeggi, a rising star, remains close to the limits of Frankfurtian criticism. His conversation is not a transcription of speech, but a well-crafted and written philosophical dialogue.
