Abstract
The collection Losurdo: presence and permanence, organized by João Quartim de Moraes and translated by Franco Tomassoni and Maria Lucília Ruy, is a tribute to the Italian philosopher who died in June 2018. Domenico Losurdo was a prolific author and widely translated in dozens of countries and languages. The book is also a deference to his critique of modernity, from which Losurdo radically opposes nihilism, a perspective so characteristic of the 20th century.
