In memory of Sílvio Frank Alem

Abstract

On December 6, 1993, Sílvio Frank Alem, twice general secretary of ANDES-SN, passed away. A communist activist, he acted against the dictatorship and fought for the democratization of the country. He was one of the creators of the Teachers' Association of the Federal University of Paraíba- João Pessoa, of which he was the first president. He contributed fundamentally to the creation of ANDES and its subsequent transformation into a National Union.
