Abstract
We must start from the failure of so-called real socialism.' Of course, this did not only happen in 1989, and critical Marxism had already analyzed it in its general terms for a few decades (and in particular from 1968 onwards). However, we can consider 89 as the official "proclamation" of such failure, since in history there is always a need for crucial dates that mark certain turning points in social and political development.
