Abstract
The Letters on “Capital” by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, with characters and organizations from the International Workers’ and Socialist Movement and with countless militants and intellectuals from different countries represent, both in terms of their dimensions and in terms of their theme, a historical document of singular importance to the social, political and intellectual history of the 19th century. They also constitute irreplaceable material for understanding the life and work of Marx and Engels, as well as for the history of the formation and development of Marxist theory.
