Resumo
O artigo apresenta as aproximações críticas entre duas correntes do pensamento ecológico e marxista contemporâneo: a escola da ruptura metabólica e a ecologia-mundo, associadas, respectivamente, a John Bellamy Foster/Paul Burkett e Jason W. Moore. O texto expõe, por um lado, as considerações da primeira sobre o realismo marxiano, pautado por um metabolismo universal da natureza e por um metabolismo social que lhe é interior. Por outro lado, explora as sugestões da segunda sobre o relacionismo marxiano e sobre o metabolismo singular. Por fim, o artigo trata das críticas mútuas esboçadas por essas perspectivas que, a partir de certa altura, assumiram dimensões antagônicas.
