Resumo
O Tacuinum Sanitatis é um catálogo de saúde, produzido pelo médico e filósofo árabe Ibn Butlan, no século XI. O Manual contém 280 itens, entre eles alimentos, ervas, especiarias, roupas, estações e atividades humanas, organizados em forma de tabelas. E foi produzido com o intuito de orientar médicos e pessoas comuns de como manter sua saúde e não adoecer, através da dietética, organização e manutenção do sono, e conservação de sentimentos. Nos séculos XIV e XV, após ser traduzido do Árabe e Grego para o Latim, ganha na região Lombarda Italiana, na corte Visconti-Sforza, iluminações que tomam para si grande parte dos fólios e tornam-se o foco principal do manuscrito a partir desse momento.
